Strength

Meleek Thomas has quietly put together one of the most impressive shooting profiles for a freshman this year. He is a natural scorer who can generate offense both on and off the ball, shooting over 41% from three while showing the confidence to take and make difficult shots. Thomas thrives coming off screens, relocating around the perimeter, and finding openings as a movement shooter. His ability to get into his jumper quickly makes him a constant threat without needing the ball in his hands for extended stretches. Despite being known primarily as a scorer, he also flashes potential as a secondary ball handler, capable of pushing in transition, making simple reads, and keeping the offense moving. Defensively, he competes well, often taking on difficult perimeter assignments and using his agility to stay in front of opposing guards. His quick decision-making stands out, as he rarely looks rushed even when operating at high speed.

Weakness

The biggest concern for Thomas is his physical profile. At 6'5" and 185 pounds, he still has a thin frame that can be disrupted by stronger defenders. While he is an efficient shooter, he can become overly reliant on jump shots and does not consistently pressure the rim. He struggles to generate free throws at a high rate, and his scoring efficiency drops significantly in half-court situations when forced to finish through contact. His floor resembles a microwave scorer who can provide instant offense off the bench, while his higher-end outcome looks similar to Desmond Bane, an efficient off-ball scorer who can handle secondary playmaking duties and impact winning basketball on both ends.
