Strength
Aday Mara has some of the best hands of any big man in college basketball, consistently catching difficult passes and finishing cleanly around the rim. At 7'3" with a 7'6" wingspan, he combines elite size with surprisingly good mobility for his frame. His feel for the game stands out immediately. He understands positioning, knows how to use his size to create easy baskets, and consistently makes the right reads offensively. Mara is an excellent interior target in pick-and-roll situations and has shown major development as a post scorer, playing with more patience, physicality, and a deeper post-move package. His passing feel and ability to see over defenses also add another dimension to his offensive value.
Weakness
Defending shooting bigs will remain one of the biggest concerns because he primarily operates in drop coverage, similar to most centers his size. Teams that can stretch the floor may force him into uncomfortable situations defensively. His free throw mechanics still have a noticeable hitch, which raises questions about how much shooting upside he truly has long term. While stronger than before, his frame can still struggle at times against the physicality and strength of NBA frontcourts.
Outlook
Mara projects as a very solid traditional NBA center who can thrive as a mobile interior big. His combination of size, hands, feel, and passing makes him an easy fit offensively in pick-and-roll systems where he can finish, cut, and make quick reads. He consistently creates easy scoring opportunities simply through length, positioning, and IQ. Stylistically, he resembles a taller version of Luke Kornet with better passing instincts and offensive feel, functioning as a smart connective big who impacts winning by making the right play.
